'To pretend there is no darkness is another way of extinguishing the light.' Madeleine L'Engle
Humanism is victorious. The grand narrative is dead. Some will say good as it has always been tied up with imperial aggression, yet others will say how flat life is without it. It was always fiction but it was also a spur to rise in defiance of the gods, to fight against the dying of the light, to do and not die. The author is dead. There are only rabbits now in a wasteland; and the only thing to do is to die. It has been described as a malaise, as a disease of the heart: it is no more than the end of the world, the prophecy has been fulfilled -- the meek have inherited the earth. To live on in anger is hardly virtuous; it is a time to king as all hope has gone. Nietzsche said it: God is dead. It is just a shame that it is so boring without him.
