Dick Gross points out the problem for Atheists
In this article Dick describes the problems Atheists/Humanists have in offering an alternative to religion and faith.
Atheism/Humanism have an intellectual structure but not an organizational one.
To compete with miracles, eternal life and a God given set of commandments we only have intellectual discipline and science.
Religion can hijack the science and twist it to their own purpose. We may point out the intellectual dishonesty but the public ignores the argument. It is too complicated.
After the church service with its charismatic preacher, its guitars and clapping or the service with its candles, its robed priests and tradition there is a family meal and then the football or discussion on Tiger Woods' infidelities.
The Atheist can point out why the bible stories can not possibly be true, but few are listening.
Atheists/Humanists don't do a lot to help themselves either.
Only a few put the effort needed into the construction of organization needed to make our voices heard where it counts.
What do you think, and more importantly what would you be prepared to do?

Gross's first point is not
Gross's first point is not brought out by the truth, which is that humanism grows every day in sophistication.
His second point is a bourgeois quibble that is not worth the time of day.
His third point shows his ignorance.
His conclusion is rubbish, therefore he is rubbish.
