You can't please them all.

Oh Dear! Just when we were getting ready for a miraculous Christmas present all these dreadful Atheists come out and complain.
I had just finished checking up on the film stars and the royals and the exploits of Tiger Woods and was about to put myself into a bath of holy water and contemplate the supernatural cures of Mary MacKillop when along comes Godless Dick Gross to ruin everything.

He doesn't believe in those cancer cures even though a bevy of beautifully robed, well fed and groomed men in the Vatican have done a "scientific" and theological study of the matter. How could they possibly be wrong?
Surely they were acting under the guidance of God. I'm not sure however if they considered the question: Why was God, acting on Mary's request, willing to cure a couple of people of cancer, but totally unconcerned about the plight of millions of children suffering from AIDS or starvation or a whole host of other diseases?
I'll bet there is a good answer. If you have Catholic friends who still believe maybe they will be able to tell you. In the meantime have a look at what that cantankerous old Godless Gross has to say on this subject.

If you want to see real

If you want to see real nonsense, check out Catholic ritual.

We just have to hope that we

We just have to hope that we won't have cases of people refusing chemotherapy, (which is bloody unpleasant) in favor of prayer as a cure for cancer because of this supposed miracle.
Did each of these "cured" people really go without medical treatment? If so why?
Did they really have cancer?
Why does the second one refuse to be identified?
How many other people died in spite of prayers, masses, rosarys etc.
Why would God, (if God exists) choose just those two people?
My final question is how can people believe such obvious nonsense?

Credulity in someone so

Credulity in someone so senior as Cardinal Pell is a mark of the Church. It is a beast.

Sarcasm is a cheap form of

Sarcasm is a cheap form of wit. What makes you think you know more about medicine or cancer than the scientists in the Catholic Church. The Vatican doesn't declare a saint unless there is definite scientific proof that there was cancer and that medical intervention either didn't happen or failed. They declared the cancer was inoperable. Don't you know what that means? Yet these two people are alive today because of prayer and the intercession of Mary. Get used to it.

O, we are very used to it.

O, we are very used to it.

Most of those statements are true, to a given value of 'true'. The real question is can you prove...or even give me a ball park lingering impression of proof...that some long dead nun cured the woman of cancer? How do you know i didn't do it? How do you know your next door cat didn't do it? I have been told that tabby's can get quiet humanitarian this time of year. Can i get a quick show of hands of all those people out there who have performed miricles on the Q-T because they were too shy to admit to it? Come on people, stick your hand up and be proud of your healing, lay some hands on the screen and spread your love out into the world....i may need to go for a lay down....

Thank God, another person. I

Thank God, another person. I was going slowly mad. What you say is wonderful and your writing is beautiful. On the other hand, you might actually need to rest your wits.
