Is there a middle ground between Atheism and Religion?

The writer of this article argues that there is and complains about the "confrontational" tactics of Atheists such as Richard Dawkins.
However most of those who commented on her article took a different view. Its worth a read. I have my own position on this, how about you?

It is obvious that religion
It is obvious that religion is not an evil, it is nonsense but it is not evil. It does most people no harm at all.
